Following the luncheon, a few brief announcements were made. Since the last gathering, Jim Kelly, Bill Quealy, Mo Murphy, Ed Moran, Leo Nolan and Joe Connolly passed on to the Lord. Peter Manseau was appointed the first Curator of Religion at the Smithsonian. Leo Finnegan's Voice of Naples Chorale is still going strong. Jack Keane launched a new website. The class now has in place an alternate telephone notification system since since half of the class, although on email, does not use it. It was agreed that the next gathering would take place again at the Stockyard restaurant on Tuesday, June 26, 2018.

2016

Our annual Class Gathering was held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, June 28th, again in the Tavern Room of the Stockyard restaurant. It was another festive event for the 33 in attendance and everyone was pleased that Fred Brigham could join us. There were a few last minute regrets because of illness or personal conflicts. Those who could not make it but sent in their best wishes to the class were Tom & Linda Delaney, Jack Farrell, Jim & Dottie Kelly, Ed McDonagh, Jack & Joyce Doherty, Leo Nolan, Joe and Anne McCarthy of Vermont, Mo & Kathy Murphy, Bob McGovern, John & Carole Foley and Tim Shea. Nonetheless, all of them were hoping to make it next year.

Following the reception and luncheon, a brief review was given of some of the happenings since last year. First, Jim Powers passed away last August. Arnold Colletti uncovered some slides from summer camp in 1961-62 which are now on our website. Luke Lauretano is part of the team trying to revitalize Today's American Catholic publication. George Hickey sent in some photos of the '62 ordination which are now on the website. Jack Keane had an art exhibit in Framingham along with an interview on Framingham cable news which are also on our website. Dick Carey continues his weekly sports broadcasts on Needham Cable channel which are again posted regularly on our website. Bill Helmick underwent open heart surgery but is now recuperating back in his parish and George Hickey was hospitalized for a lengthy period along with rehab after which he is now back on all cylinders. Bill and Peg MacDougall's daughter, Laurie, came from behind and won the Jeopardy Game show on June 21st and pocketed $80,000.
Some of our classmates keep busy with annual travels to interesting places around the world, while others are continuing in their retirement to serve in various parishes or other locales where their ministry is needed.

2015

Our annual Class Gathering was held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, June 9th, 2015 in the Tavern Room of the Stockyard restaurant, 135 Market Street, Brighton, MA. We had 42 in attendance with five short notice cancellations because of illness or unexpected conflicts. Unfortunately, your class secretary was still learning how to use his new iPhone and didn't capture the pictures he thought he had except the few he finally got of the great vocal entertainment by Dick Carey, Leo Finnegan, Jim Hickey, Jack Keane and Jim Power. Following the luncheon and reception, it was mentioned that thirteen classmates regretted because of conflicts or illness but hoped to be in attendance next year. Then, there was an update on class happenings since the last gathering, including the passing of three classmates, Dick McBrien, Harry Furblur and Len Mullaney. Classmate activity over the last year was summarized and then a group of talented classmates mentioned above entertained us with nostalgic melodies many of which everyone naturally joined in to sing. In all, it was a festive event which everyone enjoyed. It was then agreed that the next gathering would be held again at the Stockyard restaurant on Tuesday, June 14th, 2016.

2014

Our class gathering was held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, June 10th, 2014 in the Tavern Room of the Stockyard restaurant, 135 Market Street, Brighton, MA. It was another 43 record attendance. Click here to see pictures of everyone at the reception and luncheon.

Before the meal, Charlie Bourque lead the class with Grace. The meal selections were ample and delicious, and the service excellent. Following lunch, a brief meeting was held first to remember those who had passed on during the previous year: John Fox, Skip Jennings and Tom Farley. Seventeen classmates were sorry to regret because of various reasons of family or health but wanted to pass on their best regards to the class and were looking forward to next year.
Everyone was happy to see Ron and Joy Mclaughlin make the trip up from North Carolina, Tom Delaney from Texas, and Jack & Joyce Doherty from the other side of the pond in Ireland.
It was reported that Joe V. McCarthy, Joe Meehan and Tom Delaney were finally located and are happy to be reconnected.
There was a brief discussion about members who had been discovered and not on the roster and it was decided not to include them since they had only been with us less than a year.
It was also mentioned that the website was receiving around 4,500 hits a month and some from around the world.
Classmates were encouraged to check their email once a week for any new information relating to the class. They were also asked to check our website on a regular basis for updates on the class, including Carey's Corner which is updated weekly.
Finally, it was agreed that the luncheon venue this year should be the same for next year's gathering and that we should reconvene at the Stockyard on Tuesday, June 9th, 2015.

2013

The 2013 annual class gathering was held at Tim Shea's parish on June 2nd with a record attendance of 43. Click here to see pictures of everyone at dinner. More pictures of the get together from Bill MacDougall.

It was a perfect spring day for the festive event and everyone had a great time. As usual, Tim did not disappoint us with this the second time he has sponsored the gathering at his parish. We were in a nice air conditioned facility and the refreshments and catered dinner were simply superb. Tim deserves many kudos for a job well done, with all the blarney and bluster that made it such a great gathering.
A brief meeting was held following the dinner to pause for a moment of silence for the passing of Fred Guthrie, Dick Butler, Joe Sheehan and Ed DesRoches this past year; to give a status of some of our classmates who could not be with us because of illness or schedule conflicts; to pass on their requests to give their warmest regards to the class and their intent to be at the next gathering; and finally to get approval for future gatherings to be luncheons on a weekday - no night driving and less traffic.

2012

The 50th Anniversary Reception and Dinner at St. John's Seminary refectory on June 3rd was a memorable event with a record attendance. Bill and Peg MacDougall, the official class photographers for the evening, captured everyone at the fun filled event. Click here to view the pictures.
After an unfortunate flight delay, Jim and Claire Hickey finally made it to the party and Jim can be found greeting everyone at their tables while Claire is enjoying a laugh with Bob Butler and Kathy Murphy.
